The fairytale run in the FA Cup continues for FA Women’s National League side Rugby Borough as they face an exciting matchup at home against Liverpool FC Women.
Resilient in all aspects, Rugby Borough have been writing themselves a new chapter with their remarkable run of form.
Ahead of the cup tie, Rugby Borough midfielder Rhianne Rush spoke following their fourth round win against London Bees.
She said: “With any cup game it can be difficult, like any team, they had a game plan. There were nerves everywhere, you never know with the FA Cup. As soon as the game settled, we were ready to play.”

Borough made the most out of their away day, thrashing London Bees 6-0, with Angelina Nixon running the show, scoring a brace.
Heading into the fifth round, she said: “I’m buzzing. It’s the first time I’ve gone this far, it’s probably the same for a lot of the girls. I feel really privileged to be in this situation”
Borough have been showing impressive displays of football throughout the rounds, being rampant in front of goal, scoring 23 goals in their previous games in the FA Cup.
Lee Burch’s ladies look to push on and cause an upset to WSL giants Liverpool, who head into the game, winning their league game against West Ham United at Totally Wicked Stadium.

Speaking to the club’s media, Liverpool manager Matt Beard spoke about their preparation for Sunday’s away trip to the Nationwide Windows Arena.
He said: “We’ve watched a few of their games back and it’s going to be a tough game.”
In the fourth round, both sets of sides won in emphatic style as the Reds beat West Ham United 5-0, with Leanne Kiernan scoring and leading the line for Liverpool.
He added: “From my perspective, the Women’s FA Cup is the only trophy that we can win. In the WSL, I still believe we can get into that top six – if we could get fifth that would be a good achievement.
“We know on our day we can beat anyone. This is a competition historically that is the biggest competition in women’s football and the prize is Wembley.”
