Matildas defender Clare Hunt joins Robert Vilahamn’s side ahead of the upcoming season.

Joining fellow Australia international Charli Grant in North London, Hunt will be taking the number 15 jersey.

The jersey had been left by midfielder Angharad James-Turner after her transfer to the Seattle Reign which was announced in January.

Despite a disappointing Olympics run in the Paris 2024 Games, where the Matildas failed to progress from the group stages, Hunt has been selected for huge sporting tournaments since debuting in 2023.

Paris was her debut Olympic selection, following her World Cup call-up in 2023 which speaks volumes about the defender’s potential.

Prior to her move she has played in Australia, captaining the Western Sydney Wanderers in the A League and signing her first senior contract for Canberra United at 17 years old.

Most recently she has played for Première Ligue side Paris St Germain where she made 13 appearances.

Tottenham finished in 6th place last season but Vilahamn will hope that new signings like Hunt will only bolster Spurs’s league table position.
