Tottenham Hotspur have announced this morning that they have reached agreement with SK Slavia Prague for the permanent transfer of Barbora Votíková.
The goalkeeper has signed a three-year contract with the Czech club.
Votíková signed with Spurs last summer after spending two years with the renowned French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The 27-year-old Czech international made six appearances for Spurs in the Barclays Women’s Super League and 11 appearances in all competitions.
While playing for the Lilywhites, the goalkeeper increased her total to 41 caps for the Czech Republic.
During her brief contract in North London, Votíková contributed to Spurs achieving a sixth-place finish in the previous season’s Barclays Women’s Super League and was part of the squad that reached the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final for the first time in the club’s history.
Votíková will be primarily recognized for her pivotal contribution to Spurs’ inaugural Barclays Women’s Super League triumph against local rivals Arsenal in December.
The goalkeeper delivered an outstanding performance, leading Spurs to a 1-0 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Prior to her arrival in England, Votíková faced challenges during her final period at PSG, marked by injuries and some of her least convincing performances.
She is set to return to Slavia Prague for a second tenure, having successfully restored her confidence and reputation during her time with Spurs.
Votíková, originally from Plasy, began her youth career at the age of eight with the local club TJ Sokol Plasy, competing alongside boys.
Subsequently, she transitioned to the youth academy of Viktoria Plzeň.
