Arsenal has signed OranjeLeeuwinnen goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar on a permanent deal from Aston Villa.
On 31 July, the North London club announced that Van Domselaar will be wearing the 14 shirt.
The 24-year-old Dutch star began her youth career at LSVV and Telstar in the Netherlands before making her professional debut in 2017 at FC Twente where she earned 106 caps.
During her six years there, van Domselaar won three league titles and five other domestic trophies with the Enschede side.
In the summer of 2023, she joined Aston Villa.
During her first WSL season, she made 15 appearances for the club.
As an international player, van Domselaar made her full debut for the Netherlands in 2022 and went on to represent her nation at the 2022 EUROs and the 2023 World Cup.
She has 27 caps for country, thus far.
Regarding the new signing, Head Coach Jonas Eidevall said, “We’re delighted to bring Daphne to the club. She is a top goalkeeper and already has considerable experience on some of the biggest stages, while we believe she has a great deal of potential for future development, too.
“Daphne will be a strong addition to the team as we prepare for an important new season.”
Van Domselaar said, “I’m really happy to be here.
“…I want to win trophies and achieve big things, and Arsenal is the right place for me to do both. I can’t wait to play at Emirates Stadium in front of all the supporters and show what I can do.”
