Beyond The 90 understands that NewCo, the organisation taking over the top two tiers of English women’s football, will be fully incorporated by start of the new season.

Despite the FA overseeing the growth of the Women’s game since 2010, it was announced last year the Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship would be run by a new independent body from 24/25.

We are now just a few weeks away from the Championship campaign getting underway, and it is understood that various members of company CEO Nikki Doucet’s team have begun their roles.

With an interim chief of marketing seemingly already at work, and a chief football officer, chief revenue officer and head of communications ready to start in September, NewCo still appear to be on the market for a new head of products.

It is also understood that both a fan and player advisory forum will be established as NewCo positions itself in the early stages of this new era.

A big feature of NewCo’s operational model is that each club who participates in the WSL and Championship gets to act as shareholders.

This should mean that across both leagues, they will have equal opportunity to vote and represent themselves when big decisions are made.

When NewCo was first announced, Doucet said: ”This is an incredibly exciting time for women’s football.

“…Together, we now have an opportunity to see further transformational growth across our leagues by maximising the unique qualities, values and principles that we see in the women’s game, and keeping the players and the fans at the heart of everything we do.”
