Manchester United have triggered the one-year extension clause on the contract of England forward Nikita Parris.
Parris joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2022, having previously played for North London club Arsenal, and will now remain at Leigh Sports Village for one more season.
During the 2023/24 season, the 30-year-old scored 16 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions, playing an instrumental role in Marc Skinner’s forward line.
In her first season with the club, Parris helped Manchester United secure their first-ever Champions League qualification. She was also part of the squad this season as they earned their first piece of silverware since their professional relaunch in 2018.
This news follows Manchester United’s announcement of the signing of prolific goalscorer Elisabeth Terland from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Fans have been disappointed with the club’s transfer business so far this summer, as many iconic stalwarts of the team have announced their departures, including captain Katie Zelem, Mary Earps, and Lucia Garcia. The latest news is sure to reignite some optimism among the fanbase.
