Aston Villa have signed Katie Robinson on a two-year deal upon the expiration of her contract with Brighton and Hove Albion.
The winger has made 69 appearances for the Seagulls across all competitions and has scored 10 goals.
When speaking to Villa, Katie said: “I’m excited to join the club and I’m looking forward to the future.
“After speaking with Robert, it went really well, and I was excited by his visions for the club.
“It really made me want to be part of it. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve.
“I’ve had some really good experiences so far but hopefully I can kick on and keep developing my game.”
The 21-year-old has also had an impressive start to her international career as she became the youngest member of Sarina Wiegman’s squad for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023.
In addition to this, she also has a dozen caps for the under-23’s and has made five senior appearances.
The rising talent has been on manager Robert de Pauw’s radar for a while.
He told Villa: “I’ve known of Katie since I was Head Coach of the KNVB WU17.
“She played as a winger against my team and caused us a lot of difficulties.
“She has pace and knows how to make use of her qualities.
“She wants to add to her five international caps and wants to make the next step with us.
“Her ambition, to become better, matches ours.
“I believe she is a player who can be a difference-maker in games, and I very much look forward to what she will bring to Aston Villa Women.”
