In a busy window so far, Brighton Women have announced a plethora of signings including Kiko Sieke, Hannah Poulton and Fran Kirby as well as unveiling their new manager, Dario Vidosic.
Kiko Sieke
After competing for Japan at the Paris Olympics this summer, the 27-year-old striker will join Women’s Super League club Brighton.
In her 15th season at the club, she scored 20 goals for Uwara Reds last season to help them win the Japanese top flight title.
The terms and duration of Seike’s contract with Brighton have not been disclosed.
Zoe Johnson, managing director of women’s and girls’ football, expressed the club’s excitement about Kiko Seike joining their team, citing her vast experience playing at the highest level.
“We look forward to working with Kiko and seeing her career develop in the WSL,” said Johnson.
Seike is Brighton’s second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Netherlands defender Marisa Olislagers from FC Twente on a free transfer.
Dario Vidosic
Brighton has also announced the hiring of Dario Vidosic as their new manager for the Women’s Super League team on a three-year deal.
He will begin his role once his work permit is processed and he can move to England. Vidosic, a former Australian international player, has been coaching Melbourne City Women in Australia’s A-League for the past two seasons.
He takes over from interim boss Mikey Harris and will lead the team into their 2024-25 season starting on September 21st.
Fran Kirby
In other news, England veteran Fran Kirby, formerly of Chelsea, has signed with Brighton for the upcoming Women’s Super League season after her contract with her former team ended.
The 31-year-old forward joins Brighton as a free agent.
Goalkeeper Hannah Poulter
Goalkeeper Hannah Poulter, who previously played for England’s U19 squad, has also joined Brighton on a three-year deal after being pursued by several other teams including Tottenham, Everton, and West Ham.
