Brighton and Hove Albion have announced the signing of Marisa Olislagers and Kiko Seike.
Olislagers marked Brighton’s first summer signing, coming over from the Dutch league, the Eredivisie Vrouwen.
The Dutch defender spent four seasons with FC Twente and has represented the Netherlands at Under-17s, Under-19s, Under-23s and at senior level.
During her time with FC Twente, she won three Eredivisie titles, three Eredivisie Cups, two Super Cup Women trophies and the Dutch Women’s Cup.
Zoe Johnson, managing director of Brighton, said: “She’s a versatile defender who will complement our squad well, she already possesses the experience of winning trophies at a young age and we’re eager to see what she can add to the team in the forthcoming season.”
The announcement concerning the signing of Seike came earlier today.
The Japan international played as a forward for the Urawa Reds in the WE League before making the move to the Seagulls.
She spent 15 years with the Japanese side and made more than 150 appearances for them.
As the league’s top goal-scorer last season, she has scored 40 times for the Reds and received the Most Valuable Player award.
Johnson said: “She comes to us with a lot of experience at the highest level in Japan, which has earned her a well-deserved place in Japan’s Olympic Games squad.”
These signings will aim to pull Brighton higher than ninth place next season, strengthening both their front and back-lines.
