Manchester City have confirmed four players that will be leaving the club on a free transfer this Summer.
Ellie Roebuck, Demi Stokes, Ruby Mace and Filippa Angeldahl will all be departing the club following the conclusion of the season.
The news comes after club captain Steph Houghton also announced her retirement in March
The quartet were presented to the Manchester City travelling fans in their final game of the season at Villa Park on Saturday.
Ellie Roebuck
Ellie Roebuck joined City in 2015 when she was 15 years old.
She made 136 appearances for the sky blues during her time at the club – the most of any goalkeeper since the City’s professional relaunch in 2014.
The 24-year-old has a club record tally of 45 clean sheets in the WSL and despite announcing in March that she is currently recovering from a stroke, Roebuck has been linked to several rumours of a move to Liga F club Barcelona.
Demi Stokes
Defender Demi Stokes also arrived to Manchester City in 2015 and was part of the backline that conceded just four goals during the 2015/16 campaign when City won the WSL.
She is one of just three players that have made over 200 appearances in sky blue since the professional relaunch and has been named twice in PFA WSL team of the year.
In 2022 Stokes and Roebuck were both part of the Lionesses squad that won the European Championship.
Ruby Mace
Ruby Mace joined the Cityzens in 2021 following a move from North London club Arsenal’s youth set-up.
Aged 17 at the time, Mace signed her first professional contract and went on to make 29 appearances for Manchester City.
Part of her time there included a loan spell at fellow WSL club Leicester City and she has also spent the last two seasons as an England-Under 23’s international.
There have been some rumours that Chelsea are interested in the 20-year-old defensive midfielder, though it is thought she would be sent out on loan if they do sign her.
Filppa Angeldahl
The final player that City announced would be leaving is Filippa Angeldahl.
Angeldahl joined Manchester City in 2021 and has earned 69 appearances for the club.
Across the last three seasons, the midfielder helped the team to Continental Cup success in 2022 as well as reaching an FA Cup final.
There have been reports that the Swedish international could be set to join Liga F club Real Madrid.
