Arsenal have announced that Sweden forward Stina Blackstenius has signed a new contract with the club.

The 28-year-old was crucial in the Gunners last two campaigns, performing as top goal scorer in both the 22/23 and 23/24 seasons.

Her previous deal was set to expire this summer, but the Swede will now stay on and endeavour to add to her 43 goals in 83 appearances.

In an official club statement, Blackstenius said: ““I’m so happy to have signed a new contract here at Arsenal

“In the space of two and a half years, this club has come to feel like home – that’s thanks to my team-mates and the staff of course, but most of all because of our wonderful supporters.”

Last month, Blackstenius scored an extra-time winner in the 2024 FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup Final against Chelsea. Her goal secured the Gunners their second successive title in the tournament.

Head Coach Jonas Eidevall said: “Stina is a top-class striker and I’m delighted that she has signed a new deal with us.

”Her goalscoring naturally takes a lot of the focus, but Stina’s game is so much more than that.

”She’s incredibly hard-working and brings so much to the team with her clever running and physicality.”

He added: ”I know she’ll continue to be a huge part of what we’re building here at the club.”
