Arsenal have confirmed that Vivianne Miedema will leave at the end of the season.

The Dutch international has been with the Gunners for seven years, scoring 125 goals making her the WSL’s all-time top goal scorer.

She has also provided 50 assists in her 172 appearances since joining the club from Bayern Munich in 2017.

In an emotional announcement video on Instagram Miedema said: ”The last two seasons have been tough for me, with injury and missing two cup finals but this is a team sport, and we have all got our own roles to play.”

”I have been lucky enough to have the amazing support of my teammates and friends and out of all my goals at Arsenal, my first one back against Liverpool stands out for that very reason.”

She went on to say: ”It’s always been an honour to represent the Arsenal and it’s been a pleasure to play with many talented players, ex-teammates and fellow Dutchies.”

This season Miedema has made 13 appearances after being side-lined from December 2022 to October 2023 with an anterior crucial ligament injury.

The 27-year-old has won one WSL title with Arsenal as well as three league cups.

She will play her final game as a Gunner on Saturday as Arsenal host Brighton at Meadow Park on the final day of the season.
