The Red’s second match of the season saw Liverpool travel to Chigwell Construction Stadium, with both teams eager to secure their inaugural victory in 2024/25.

The Hammers experienced a significant loss in their season’s debut against Manchester United.

Meanwhile, the Reds managed to earn only a single point in their encounter with Leicester City where they drew 1-1.

Liverpool initially took the lead through effective high pressing and skilful play from summer recruit Olivia Smith, who executed a well-placed angled shot to score just seven minutes in.

Despite maintaining their advantage for 70 minutes, Liverpool could not extend their lead and were ultimately equalised by West Ham.

It was Japan international Riko Ueki who headed the ball home after Amber Tysiak floated the ball into the box.

Ueki’s equalizing goal not only shifted the momentum but also highlighted the unpredictable nature of football, where even the smallest players can make a significant impact on the outcome of the game.

Despite facing significant pressure in the closing moments of the game, both teams were unable to secure a decisive goal to extend their advantage.

This result highlights a recurring issue for Matt Beard’s team, as they have now failed to preserve a 1-0 lead in two consecutive matches.
