Spain have announced their 18-player roster for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics, where they will be hoping to secure Gold.

World Cup winners Spain secured their spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics after winning the UEFA Women’s Nations league tournament final against France back in February.

The squad heading to the Games boasts an impressive array of talent, including Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmatí, Alexia Putellas, Olga Carmona, and Salma Paralluelo, among many others.

In addition to participating in the Olympics this year, Spain also have their eyes set on the upcoming UEFA Women’s European Championship, which will be held in Switzerland in 2025.

The recent qualifying matches not only secured them a place at the tournament but also gave us an idea of the form the Spain team is in ahead of the Olympics.

Spain started the round of qualifying with a surprising 2-1 defeat to the Czech Republic after conceding a penalty goal. The side also found themselves one player down after Irene Paredes received a straight red card in the 70th minute.

However, just four days later, Spain bounced back with a 2-0 win over Belgium.

Despite winning the game, Spain had already qualified for the 2025 Euros, meaning these last two games provided head coach Montserrat Tomé with an opportunity to experiment with her team.
