Laura Weinroither on the pitch

Arsenal FC has announced that Laura Wienroither has extended her contract with the club, signing a new deal in North London.

After joining Arsenal in 2022, Wienroither has made a significant impact with 28 appearances and one goal. But unfortunately, in the 2023 Champions League semi-final against Wolfsburg, the 25-year-old suffered a torn ACL.

Despite this setback, she has expressed how quickly Arsenal felt like “home” to her. Her solid defensive performances have endeared her to the fans, earning her the nickname “Tiny Tank.”

Although her injury in the 22/23 season limited her playtime, Wienrother’s presence extends beyond the football pitch.

She is actively involved in the community, participating in various Arsenal initiatives. Her love for community work was evident in her contract extension video, where she shared how much joy it brings her to be part of these activities and her hope that it brings joy to the children she helps as well.

Fans will be hoping that they will get to see more of the defender next season. It was a emotional day when she made her return from injury against Bristol city at Meadow Park.

There is also excitement about seeing her in action during Arsenal’s upcoming tour in the United States, where they will face Washington Spirit and old rivals Chelsea.

While the length of her new contract has not been disclosed, Arsenal fans can look forward to seeing Laura Wienroither at the club for several more years.
