Finnish international, Emma Koivisto, is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, when her contract expires.

Koivisto took the number two shirt in 2022, after signing from Brighton Hove and Albion, where she had spent the 18 months prior.

She had previously had three successful years in Swedish league with Gothenburg, leaving the team as league champions.

The wing-back has been a familiar name in the starting XI this season, with 50 appearances across all competitions.

She has also scored four goals in her two seasons for the club.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com about his decision, manager Matt Beard said: “She leaves nothing on the pitch or the training pitch, so it was a real tough one, especially when we were discussing it as a staff group.

“I think Emma is at a stage where she wants to play week in, week out.”

Her last game with the team will be at the King Power Stadium against Leicester City at 3pm today, with Liverpool continuing to fight for a fourth place finish.

The 29-year-old has not yet revealed where she will continue her club career.
