Tonight’s WSL match between Chelsea and Arsenal was delayed by half an hour, starting at 7.30pm due to an Arsenal kit issue.

Arsenal had brought white socks to Stamford Bridge, which would have clashed with Chelsea’s home kit.

It was announced that the game would start later than the planned kick-off time of 7pm, as Arsenal had to buy black socks from the Chelsea club shop.

Speaking on Sky Sports, former Lioness Karen Carney said: ”We’ve waited so long to talk only about football in the women’s game.

”Clearly it’s a human error, a mistake, but it’s embarrassing, it’s embarrassing for the players and I’m frustrated.”

Jonas Eidevall’s team came out to warm up before the game with tape covering the Chelsea badge on their socks.
