England women face Italy tonight, as they look for their second win of the international break following their emphatic win over Austria on Friday evening.
The two sides last faced each in the Arnold Clark Cup in Coventry last year, when England secured a 2-1 win with two headers from Rachel Daly.
The game kicks off at 5pm with live coverage on ITV4 and ITVX, and all eyes are waiting to see if England manager Sarina Wiegman will experiment with the team she puts out.
The Lionesses have been joined in training this week by England’s U23s.
And fans are hoping that after a dream international debut for 20-year-old midfielder Grace Clinton, more of the nation’s younger stars will soon follow in her footsteps.
Clinton scored England’s second goal of the night against Austria on Friday, alongside Beth Mead, Alessia Russo, Jess Carter and Rachel Daly who also added to the tally.
Some of the key names coming out of the England camp that could be set to make an appearance in tonight’s fixture are:
- Naomi Layzell
- Aggie Beever-Jones
- Laura Blindkilde Brown
- Jessica Naz
These players have all been training with the senior squad after being promoted from the U23s late last week.
Regarding some of England’s more familiar stars, Fran Kirby has been ruled out due to a ‘’minor knee injury’’ whilst Chloe Kelly could possibly make a return.
As England continue their preparations ahead of the Euro 2025 qualifiers that begin in April, it will be interesting to see which players make the final team.
LG Women’s Football’s Predicted line-up: Keating, Bronze, Carter, Wubben-Moy, Charles, Walsh, Park, Toone, James, Mead, Hemp.
